Mount Barker VFRS has two firefighting appliances (fire trucks) and a rescue/hazmat trailer.

UT-12

Our biggest appliance is a 2000L, 4 wheel drive truck called an Urban Tanker, or UT for short. Its fleet ID is UT-12.  Prior to receiving the UT the Brigade had a number of Light Pumper appliances including LP-67, LP-65 and LP-100.

The UT was received on November 17, 2003.

LT-400

Our other appliance is called a Light Tanker. It also is a 4 wheel drive vehicle and carries around 500L of water.  Its fleet ID is LT-400.  Previous Light Tankers in the Brigade included LT-60, LT-120 and LT-243.

LT-243 was replaced by LT-400 on October 30, 2008.

RT-038

In order to acquire this Rescue Trailer the Brigade had to raise money from the community.  It carries the “Jaws of Life” and other rescue equipment.  Also on board the trailer is some equipment for dealing with hazardous materials.
